Your dog's happiness and safety are our first priorities. We provide a comfortable, nurturing environment. Photos and video of dogs' activities are uploaded to our social media accounts daily and sent directly to owners*. We are always available via text, email, or phone to communicate with owners during their dog's stay.
Dogs that enjoy the companionship of other dogs can look forward to time together in carefully designed, supervised play groups. While dogs that prefer solo care are provided individual attention and play. Each and every dog is provided many daily play sessions in our securely fenced yard and are given run of our home just like our own dogs - giving our care a truly at-home feel.
For sleeping and while other incompatible groups or individual dogs receive care, dogs rest in oversized crates or one of our two indoor kennels**. Crate/kennel time is loaded with enrichment through brain-game snack toys, owner approved chew items, and calming music psychoacoustically composed specifically for dogs.
We are happy to answer any and all questions you may have regarding our care.
Beyond the Walk is bonded and insured through Business Insurers of the Carolinas.
*We cannot ensure your dog's photo will be included in social media posts, but are happy to send photos directly to owners.
**Kennels are 5 foot by 5 foot and ceiling height. Kennels are reserved for dogs that are not used to using crates, but may be used for the two largest dogs in our care at a given time even if those dogs are accustomed to crates. Clients with small dogs that are not used to crates may be asked how their dog would do in a giant crate set up like a suite so that kennels may be used for large dogs.
Diane Orenchuk, CPDT-KA
I began my career in retail management and progressed to corporate retail in store operations. I hold a Bachelors Degree in Business Management from the Anisfield School of Business at Ramapo College of NJ. I changed career paths to align with my love for animals and worked in shelter management for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) for over a year. I earned the title of CPDT-KA from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. I have worked with a vast variety of dogs for over 6 years through shelter care, foster, daycare and boarding, and training. I have education in and experience with fearful, high arousal/energy, working dogs, resource guarding, aggression, and dog selective behaviors. I am currently a trainer with It's Your Dog, School for Dogs.
My education is rooted in the expansive, scientifically documented benefits and effectiveness of reward training. In training and boarding, I use food, toys, and other rewards to reinforce desirable behaviors. Dogs are individuals, therefore I work at each dog's pace and base rewards on their preferences. I am fluent in dog body language and respect the dog's communication. I believe in setting dogs up for success, creating many opportunities for rewards, and earning dogs' trust. It is my pleasure to provide care for your dog.
